Completely blind in his early childhood, Willie McTell was barely known during his lifetime.
Under different pseudonyms such as “Blind Sammie” or “Georgia Bill” he was able to regularly record new titles. Only after his death many musicians like the Allman Brothers took up his works. Bob Dylan wrote the song “Blind Willie McTell” about him in 1983 and covered the title “Broke Down Engine” in 1993.
The album “Last Session” from the year 1956 is a proof of the creativity of Blind Willie McTell.
